FTEC, Thursday Evening

Trevor was pleased to see that the blood drive was still going strong as he set himself up for his shift. It really was a pleasant surprise to see how people were coming together to help.

After chatting with Janet (http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_clinic/83495.html?thread=3828007#t3828007) about the blood drive, Veronica decided to check in on Angel.

"Hi," she greeted the doctor on duty. "Can I stop back and see Angel?"

If Trevor was a weaker man, he might feel a bit jealous of Angel for all of the attention he seemed to be getting from pretty young blonde girls.

"Certainly," he said. "Go right ahead, there shouldn't be anyone else back there."

Angel winced. On the one hand, he'd known this was coming. On the other, he didn't want to lie to Veronica but right now he couldn't stand even thinking about food, let alone drinking it.

He decided to aim for the middle.

"Think... maybe an hour ago?"

Veronica had no reason to suspect that Angel would be creative in telling the truth, so she accepted him at his word.

"Well, good," she replied. "Do you need anything else while I'm here?"

Angel's mind was a chaos of pain and exhaustion. He had a gut-deep instinct that there was something in there with Veronica's name on it, but he couldn't bring it up.

He hoped she couldn't see how much that was worrying him.

He grabbed on to any thought that came to mind. "Your dog. Did Sean get to play with him?"
