After a visit to the mainland and getting caught in a traffic jam from HELL, Christian hurridly opened up the clinic and checked up on Angel, who seemed to be doing better than he was last week.

Molly entered the clinic and checked in with Christian.

"Hi, I'd like to visit Angel. Is he awake?"

"He's drifting in and out of consciousness," Christian said. "You can poke your head in Exam One and see if he's awake, but if he's dead asleep let him be, he needs the rest."

"Okay," Molly said with a smile. "I won't wake him up if he's sleeping. Thank you." Molly headed back to Exam One.

Angel slept. He didn't sleep restfully. He passed in and out of what might have looked like pain, or nightmares, or both.

Logan hadn't planned on falling asleep at the clinic, but Cal had never returned and he didn't want to leave Angel alone.

In fact, he hadn't realized he had fallen asleep there until he woke up, realized he was waking up and followed that to the logical conclusion that he had been asleep.

He stretched, neck and back aching from the odd position he'd slept in.

Angel was twitching. He was curled into himself as though trying to protect himself from something. Every so often his head would shake, as though he were trying to say "No." and wasn't quite making it.

Logan watched Angel for a moment, debating "need for rest" vs. "bad dreams", then finally rested a hand lightly on Angel's uninjured shoulder. "Angel," he said softly.

At any given point of the day Angel's probably sleeping. He'll wake up if someone comes in, though.

Anyone who saw him yesterday would notice he did not look quite as good as he had then.

John comes in, carrying a blanket with a squirming bundle in his hands.

It's just a bundle, dudes. Nothing to see here.

"Angel? You awake?"

Angel's eyes blinked open. "Hey," he said, muzzily. "'s it Monday?"

"Tuesday," John says. "You're one day off." The bundle squirms a little more and John clutches it tighter.

"How're you feeling?"

At some point in the afternoon, Alfred slips in unobtrusively. Angel might notice his entrance, he might not. Angel has superhuman hearing, but Alfred is very stealthy.

"I'm sorry," he said, quietly. "I wasn't able to get any more of the anti-toxin. How are you feeling?"

"Famous last word and a famous last gutteral utterence," Alfred said, taking a seat by Angel's bed. "I've seen enough dying men in my life to know when even a dead man is dying."

"I won't ask what happened for the poison to get into your system. That's none of my bussiness. Nor do you have to tell me anything if you don't want to. You only know me as the odd but nice old man who runs the restaurant on Chimera Court."

He tilted his head to the side slightly. "But if there is anything I can do, please ask. If, for example, there is a particular type of animal blood you would prefer to have, I'm quite certain that we can rival the local butcher's for types of blood available."

After hopefully getting permission to visit, Molly stepped into Angel's room with her hands behind her back.

"Angel?" she said quietly. "You awake?"

Angel had been drowsing, but when he heard Molly his eyes opened. He smiled. "Hey, Molly."

Molly smiled and walked over to his bedside when he opened his eyes. "I heard on the radio that you were sick. I didn't even know that vampires could get sick. Are you feeling any better yet?"

Janet came in to visit Angel later in the afternoon.

Angel stirred in his sleep. He wasn't quite awake yet, but he could be if Janet came closer or made noise.

Janet moved closer to see Angel. She could get a look at his chart while she was here, at least, and see how his condition was progressing.

Veronica dropped by the clinic to check on Angel before she went to work. She was confident after her conversations with Janet and Marty that they were on track to finding a cure.

He was sleeping when she poked her head in, but she did notice that he looked a little worse than he had the day before. She hoped he wasn't regressing. She also hoped that he was remembering to eat or that someone had made him eat.
