His alarm didn't go off. The power failed. He had to do emergency surgery on a patient on the mainland. He had a hot blonde in the bed with him who woke him up in that special way. Whatever the excuse, Christian opened the clinic a few hours late. Ooops.

Lilly waltzed into the Clinic. She'd figure out a reason why she was there at some point.

Christian looked the blonde over. "Can I help you?" he said, suppressing a lecherous grin.

Lilly did not bother to suppress any of her lechery, giving Christian the appreciative once-over.

Twice.

"I'm sure you could" she said rather coquettishly, before realizing that she should, in theory, come up with some faux medical condition as justification to be in the Clinic.

"Do you think it would be possible for you to remove a bullet for me?"

Encouraged by her gaze, Christian didn't try to conceal his own interest. "A bullet?" he said. "From a gun, or did you misplace a toy?"

"I take very good care of my toys," she shot back without blinking, "All of them."

She cocked her head, "But I meant a gun, this time. The bullet's in my arm, and I think it's moving around."

Christian stood up and took the arm that Lily offered. "What's your name, sweetheart?" he asked as he pressed his hand against her arm, his fingers seeking the bullet. "We're going to have to get that out before it does any damage to your muscles. How did it get there? I don't see a scar from a bullet wound."

Lilly wondered for a moment if she should have lied about the bullet being somewhere else. Like maybe her ass.

"Lilly. And it got there because a totally insane hooker shot me..." she paused, knowing she would have to drop the whole dead thing on Christian now so he wouldn't worry about her pulling a Harry Whittington.

"It's not really a problem, besides getting through metal detectors and creeping me out by shifting sometimes. Because... my body's a little different than most girls."

"It looks pretty good to me," Christian said, drawing his hand down along her arm. "But I'd have to give you a thorough exam, just to make sure."

She shivered a little. Was it an act? Who knows.

"Of course. Whatever you think is best," she said, immediately acquiescing.

"Let me take you in to one of the private exam rooms then," Christian said. "Right this way."

Lilly followed him into the exam room, taking a seat.

"Do you need me to wear one of those little paper things?"

Christian handed her a skimpy thin cotton gown that was open in the back. "Change into this," he said. "I'll be right back. I need to get my stethoscope out of the freezer." He winked at Lilly.
