Christian opened up the clinic for his first day on the job. His specialty was plastic surgery, but he doubted there would be much call for it here. He was fully trained as a general practioner, however, and could handle most emergencies.

Giving physicals to hot female students would undoubtedly be a highlight of the job.

Nat arrived on the scene promptly at six, laptop case dangling from her shoulder. She also had a few of her research notes to read over, and figure out what her next course of action would be.

If one listened carefully, she might be humming.

"You must be Natalie," Christian said as she arrived to take over the clinic. His eyes swept over her, sizing her up.

"And you must be Dr. Troy," Natalie replied. She kept her expression positive, but felt her senses bristle at his appraisal.

"Are things as weird where you're from as they are around here?" Christian asked, making conversation.

"Usually. Though I think this is the first place I've ever actually seen a demon." She offered a smile.

"Demon, huh?" Christian said. "I've met a talking cat and heard about green people and black and white hookers, but I haven't seen any demons." He laughed a little. "I'm surprised how calmly I'm taking this."

"If this is your first experience with the strange and unusual, then you are taking this fairly calmly." Nat smirked. "Though I know we have a local shrink, too, if you feel your brain beginning to implode."

"No thanks, I'm not too fond of shrinks," Christian said. "But strange and unusual? I've seen plenty of that. Just not...this strange."

Natalie furrowed her brow, eyeing him warily. "Strange and unusual? What's your specialization?"

"Plastic surgery," Christian admitted. "Yours?"

Now I understand the strange and unusual part...

"I'm an ME. I'm up to speed as a GP, of course, but my patients don't usually have a pulse."

Christian chuckled. "Hope we don't have much call for that around here," he said. "Of course, I don't expect to get much use out of my primary skills, unless some of the students are looking for a boob job."

After getting, rather rudely, kicked out of Alanna's bag, Faithful decided to finish exploring the town. After getting kicked out of the NPC grocery store, he trotted into the clinic and looked around curiously.

"Here, kitty kitty," Christian said, looking down at Faithful.

Faithful glanced up and wound up doing his version of a double take. "Meeeeow?" His tail twitched, possibly in amusement.

Christian reached down to scritch Faithful behind the ears. "You belong to someone, girl, or just wandering around?"

Faithful yowled and flexed a paw, ready to scratch if necessary. "Why does everyone just assume that a cat is always female?" He hissed his annoyance.

Christian blinked. Did the cat just...talk?

Faithful sighed. "Meow?"

Crouching down, Christian looked curiously at Faithful. A talking cat should have surprised him more, but from what Tommy was saying about green people and black and white hookers, said cat would fit right in. "Ah, what's your name?" he asked.

Faithful glared. "Make up your mind, do I talk or not? And it's Faithful. I'm going out on a limb here and saying your's is not Bel." Faithful allowed himself a small smile. And yet another twitch of the tail.

"I've never met a talking pussy before," Christian remarked, smrking. "And believe me, I've met a lot.

"Who's Bel?" he went on. "That's the second person I've been mistaken for. Is this an island of clones or something?"

One paw shot out, claws out stretched and came within milimeters of Christian's hand. Faithful hissed. "I'm. A. Cat. And a male one at that! And Bel is a student up at the school. You didn't say who you were."

Christian drew his hand back. "Christian," he said. "Doctor Christian Troy. So tell me, Mr. Cat, what don't you like about yourself?"

"Faith. Ful." Faithful carefully stretched each syllable. "Doctor, huh? You'll have the lovely job of working with my owner, then. And I don't like having to deal with human stupidity." He glared at Christian at that.

"Your owner?" Christian said. "Who's that? Dr. Lambert?"

"Who?" Faithful's tail twitched. "No. Red-haired, short, purple eyes, annoying. Goes by Alanna. Who's Dr. Lambert?"

"Night shift doctor according to the clinic schedule," Christian said. "Haven't met her yet. So tell me more about this Bel person. He looks like me?"

Faithful filed that away for future referance. "Your long lost twin, only vaguely younger and not fully human. Which one of you is nicer is hard to call, at least he's polite day to day."

Christian mulled this over. "While I'm sure my partner would be horrified to learn there were two of me, I'll have to meet this kid," he said.

Faithful's whiskers twitched in barely hidden amusement. "Well, you apparently have more than looks in common."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Christian asked.

Faithful rolled his eyes. "Other people horrified at finding out there's two of you." He used his tail to emphisize his point. Or possibly wave away flies.

"I don't know, the girl who threw herself at me at that Caritas place might not be too unhappy," Christian said, grinning.

Faithful jumped up onto a chair and did his best not to roll his eyes. "How drunk was she?"

"You seem to have a problem with your eyes," Christian pointed out. "A little surgery can possibly fix that for you."

Faithful gave Christian a 'Are you totally insane or am I just special?' look. "I'm a cat." He paused. "I just happen to be smarter than most humans."
