(no subject)

He'd checked on Vala, of course, but he hadn't opened the clinic because he just didn't want to deal with it. The on-call light was on, and he was technically available. If needed. He spent the morning lounging on the couch watching mindless television to pass the time. He hadn't decided if he was going to keep the appointment with Susan Dr Pevensie, but he found himself letting Cash out at quarter to two, and five minutes later he was in the clinic.

He sat at his desk and sighed. Maybe he should bring the plant from Blair back to the clinic. It might cheer the place up, once it started to grow. And Blair had said he should talk to it. He had plenty of time to talk to inanimate objects when he was working clinic.

He opened the top drawer of the desk and pulled out a thick manilla envelope. His medicalfile. Copies of doctor's reports, his current perscriptions, the pages of the notebook Wilson logged his progress and reactions in after he gave up the Vicodin. He sighed again and swiveled in his chair to look at Susan's door. He didn't need her to tell him he was a addict, and he didn't appreciate ehr making assumptions as such. He was an addict, and he knew it. And aside from a couple of teeny timy little slips, he'd been off the Vicodin since November 20. And did those slip ups really count, when he'd puked the pills back up each time? Probably.

The doctor is in, but he has an appointment with Dr Pevensie on the books. The question remains if he will honor the appointment or not. If he does, the on-all light will be on, but I wouldn't recommend interrupting. If he doesn't, the on-call light may remain on because he's feeling somewhat anti social and I wouldn't recommend interrupting hisbrooding. Just fair warning, yo.

"Janet's banged up and bruised. Ribs, mostly. Izzie and Isabel are fine. You're a hero. How's it feel? Aside from medicated." She dropped a small bag of chocolates in Vala's lap. "Thought you might want these, god knows you deserve them."

"Oooh! Chocolate!" Vala grinned, tucking them out of sight. "I'm a hero? Uh, I don't know... it's not really my usual thing."

"Isabel stopped by the library, told me everything that happened before I got there. That took *guts*, grabbing Izzy from that bitch. So yeah, why not hero?" Parker grinned. "Are you getting out of here soon?"

Vala shook her head. "Too much time around YoYo, I think," she groused. Then she laughed. "Not that that's going to change anytime soon. I practically had to force him out the door to go get himself something to eat. I'm taking bets on how fast he'll manage to get back here and whether he's going to brave the cafeteria to do it."

"Oh, now that's just sad. Love has fermented his brain. I mean, it's not like they don't deliver pizza here." Parker shook her head. "Do you want me to pick up your assignments from Dr. Pierson tomorrow? I know you and Janet have a pass from classes through Friday."

"Hey, if I didn't force him out for something he'd never leave the room." Her smile was at odds with her tone. "And, yeah, I'd appreciate that. I think they're letting me go tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be hitting classes. More like hitting the bed and staying there."

Parker grinned again, amused. "Cool. I'll pick them up, and drop them off for you tomorrow evening. Anything else you need in the meantime? Hairbrush, toothpaste, whatever? Or does Cam-boy have that covered?"

"Nah, I'll be fine. And if I'm missing anything I can send Cam out to get it." She frowned. "I wish he'd go to his classes though; he doesn't actually get an excuse note. And the last thing he needs is his father finding out he's skipping classes because of me." She sighed. "Maybe I can get him to go tomorrow at least."

"If you want, I'll whap him the next time I see him." Parker grinned. "Or at least drag him to Dr. Pierson's class." She patted the blankets. "Feel better soon, okay? Let me know if you do need anything."

Vala laughed, then clutched her side with a wince. "Thanks, yeah, drag him to class if you can? And I'll let you know.

"And thanks for the rescue last night, by the way. I was with it long enough to see that at least."

"Janet did all the hard work. Darla was on her way out of there by the time I showed up. But I was happy to provide the getaway car," Parker said. "I still need to talk to her, but I think she's slept through today. I'll tell her you're doing better, though."

Vala nods. "Cool. And hey, thanks for checking in."

"No problem. I'll see you tomorrow, after I get notes from Dr. Pierson." Parker waved as she went to the door. "Get some rest."
