Clinic Hours - Monday January 9th 2006

Though he wasn't sure if House had gotten his annoucement out to the school yet, Wilson went ahead and opened up the School Clinic as they'd discussed the night before.

Letting Cash out of the apartment, he reached down and ruffled the puppy's ears. "Did he already leave you on your own little guy? Come on then, let's get the day started."

Opening the front door of the clinic, Wilson gave Cash a quick run through the courtyard to be a good puppy then called him back into the reception area of the clinic, tossing him a new squeak toy that he'd picked up on his way up from town.

He hadn't been back to the clinic since the night he'd left the apartment and though he expected to feel a little strange, he soon found himself settling into his usual routine. Starting coffee, a nice Kona blend today, he straightened up the waiting room and settled down at the desk to do some paperwork.

Wilson was fairly certain that House hadn't thought to update the supplies in awhile and they had talked specifically about Wilson keeping up with the back office work of both clinics. So, settling down with the paperwork and a mug of coffee Wilson got his day started.

Doctor is in, come say hello!

"I understand that you're not trying to hurt me sir." she responded, her lip quivering a little, "But it's not something I can turn on and off." Pippi looked very sad, and nobody could look as sad as Pippi when Pippi was sad. "I'm sorry."

"Oh stop. I'm not mad. Annoyed, yes. At the needle, not you. See, now you're a mystery. I've seen blood react badly to the needle, never seen the needle react badly to the arm." He quirks a brow.

"And don't call me sir. My name's Greg." He scratches his chin ad tries to tell himself he's only being nice because in his position, he should be nice. "Or Dr House, if you're a stickler for that kind of thing."

Pippi nodded her head and smiled at him. "Well... Greg," she said, "If you show me how, I suppose I could try to do it for you? I don't know how well that would work..."

'If you think it will work." He shrugs. "But if you've got some sort or...whatever, that prevents you getting hurt, and you don't really get sick, it may be unnecessary."

"It certainly couldn't hurt to try." she said, "...Or probably won't."

House nods. He reaches for a latex tie and ties off his upper arm. "What you're going to do, is find a vein." He tapped his inner elbow. He'd self medicated with an IV before, though he couldn't say he'd ever taken his own blood.

"And then, you stick the needle in, carefully." He runs a cotton swab over his arm. "Just like this," He shows her, biting his bottom lip in concentration as he slid a clean, fresh needle into his arm. Blood started flowing through the tubing and into a small vial.

"See? Not so difficult." He tugged the needle out of his arm and released the tie.

Pippi watched intently at House's demonstration. "Okay, I think I can do that."

"Might want to wash your hands first, just to be safe." House nods toward the sink.

Pippi washes her hands just like she saw House do. she even grabs a pair of gloves and snaps them on. She hops back up on the table and basically goes through exactly the same routine step by step. (Except that she bites her bottom lip in concentration.) When she goes to use the needle, there's a moment where her hand quivers a bit, but eventually it does it's thing. The needle is a tad bent, but not enough to restrict the flow.

"You're right, that does pinch a bit."

"Yeah. Just a little." House watched the blood drip into the vial. "Should be interesting, if you ever do get sick."

As her life's blood dripped into the vial, Pippi's eyes lit up as she remembered something.

"Oh! My assigned Big Brother works here. DEATH. And is friend Lisa." She beams.

House raises a brow at that. "DEATH is great. Lisa too." He nods. "Can you see DEATH?"

"Oh yes. He's quite handsome... Bit skinny though. Like my Aunt Rikka... Never could get her to eat anything."

"He keeps us hopping around here. Did you notice the colorful display out front? DEATH did that." House grins broadly. "I very nearly didn't hire him. You know, DEATH and all. He's really quite fascinating."

Pippi does not get why hiring DEATH to work at a clinic would be anything other then a wonderful idea... But nods sagely in agreement anyway.

"Yes, I saw it. He enjoys color very much. Have you seen what he did with his room to welcome his new roommate? Very..." she tried to remember the word he used, "A vent guard."

"I'm sure it's lovely. I don't make it over to the dormns very often. But DEATH is a special guy. Very, as you say, a vent guard." He smiles. He's not making fun of her, really. He likes her. Which is a change. His eyes have a little sparkle to them.

"So are there any kinds of Wacky things that happen at this school in particular you would like to warn me about? I already know about..." She ticks off on her fingers... "The Locker, Rover, Gremlins, Vampires, Demons, animal transformations, zombies, and..." she thinks for a moment... "...That there is no longer a giant squid in the pool."

"What? I don't make the list? Grumpy doctor with a cane?" House grins at her. "Nah, that about covers it. The rest? You kind of have to find out for yourself."

"You're not grumpy, you're quite pleasant... But don't worry. I won't tell anybody... :D"

"You breathe a word about that to anyone and my reputation will be ruined." House smirks just a little.

She grinned. "Far be it for me to besmirch a man's honor." She looked at her watch. "How much more do you need? I promised a friend I would meet him after 6th period."

"Oh, that should be plenty. Pull the needle out slowly, and you're free to go. I'm still thinking about keeping the monkey, though."

"Heh, I'd say you could have him Greg. But I like you." she said with an impish grin as she pulled the needle out and set it on the tray with the gloves and the tie. Mr. Neilson hopped up onto her head.

"Thank you very much for being such a great Doctor! I'll stop by even if my shponk doesn't hurt! See ya!" And she bounded off to meet with Walter (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhighdorms/376157.html?thread=15957341).
