It's Monday. He's been sitting in the clinic all day, but kept the lights off and the on-call beacon on because his mun has to work he's feeling antisocial.
The desk is spotless, though he did take everything out of the trash can after his little cleaning spree on Sunday. He filled the drawers back up, and figures Wilson will have a difficult time finding *anything*, and he'll hear about it later, but it felt good to toss everything when he did it.
He's opened the doors, finally, and is at the desk with a red lolly, and a bottle of Vicodin sitting in front of him. Wilson's crossword puzzle book is there too, but he hasn't written one single word all day.
Dr is in, if you dare to see him

He set it down and looked up at her again. "I'm feeling great. I'd be up for the next marathon if I wasn't missing a chunk of muscle in my leg."
He shook his head and rubbed a hand over his face. "And how are you this fine winter's day, Miss Alanna?"

House's eyes flickered to the hallway that led to the apartment. "Nope, nothing I need. I'm just sitting here waiting till I can mosey back home."

Alanna groaned. "Well, I'm really not sure if I'm supposed to drag him around everywhere, so he's supposed to stay in my bag and nap. Dr. Wilson said it's all right as long as he doesn't see him, so, out of sight."

Alanna sighed. "He's a wee bit spoiled." "Am not!"

"Not at all. No harm in indulging him a little." House leaned down and rubbed his chin over Faithful's head.
"However, Dr Wilson doesn't need to know about this."
no subject
"That's because I'm adorrrable. And they think my eyes are 'nifty'".

"And you, shouldn't keep him in a bag all day."

And he'd kept expecting House to return but as the day continued and House seemed to actually be taking the idea of clinic hours for real, Wilson surfaced from the apartment.
Walking down the hallway the first thing that caught his eye was the desk. Blinking, he raised an eyebrow.
"Uh...tornado?"

"I really liked those pens." He said without any real rancor.
Exhaling softly he turned and sat down on the top of the desk, looking at the older man with quiet dark eyes.
"It was a no win situation. Young mother with mestasticized melanoma, a tumor in her brain had finally compromised all function leaving her vegetative but she's six months pregnant. Jack needed my help mapping out a plan to buy time for the baby without the cancer crossing the umbilical cord or killing the mother."

His bright eyes registered understanding and compassion, and he was more than glad he'd suggested Aziraphale accompany Wilson on the trip. He could only hope the angel's presence had helped Wilson's frame of mind, either directly or indirectly.
He could only imagine how difficult it had been for Wilson in light of the situation with Julie. House's arms moved around Wilson's waist and he nuzzled his face against his waist.
There were no words to express what he was thinking, what he was feeling. He could only offer quiet comfort and understanding.

"I'm sorry I couldn't take you, House." He whispered. "I could barely stand to go myself and I know we both have ghosts...I'm sorry, Greg...I couldn't be sure I could help you fight yours and face mine at the same time."
no subject
"We both know I would have been miserable and I wouldn't have been very positive for you to be around." He turned his head just enough to nuzzle Wilson's neck and kiss his cheek.

"I did get you lots of presents in New York."

"And before you start tearing the apartment upside down looking for them, your gifts are in a safe place. I know how you are about sniffing out presents and they are not in the apartment...where I can't even hide changing my mind about dinner."

"My mother used to send my gifts to my grandmother's house, and have Nana bring them with her on Christmas Eve."

"You are so going to go snoop. I know you are. I expect it. That's why I went to Aziraphale. He's a master thwarter and you require a professional."

After a few minutes, he whispered. "And you're still going to go snoop."

"Come on. I want to snuggle and not out here in the reception area. There are game shows to be watched."
