Evening Clinic Hours Tues 11/29
Returning from town, House went through the small apartment, pausing in the kitchen to take his meds, then headed off to the clinic. He hadn't worked for more than a week, not since he'd treated Rory and strained his leg. As much as he hated to admit it (and would likely not admit it if asked) he missed it.
His leg ached a little from he chill, and hoped the nausea creeping up on him was from being out in the cold as well. He set a pot of coffee to brew, Wilson's special Christmas blend. The sweet aroma filled the small waiting area pretty quickly, and House sat at the desk with a red lolly and a couple files. His eyes flickered to the side, to The Pill Book sitting like a beacon on he end of the desk.
He reached over to finger the cover, and sighed.
[OOC: He's going to start feeling rotten again, so if you stop by, he may be testy. His bark is far worse than his bite, though, so... OOC the second, mun will be AFK from 9-10 eastern for canon]

He'd been about to turn around and head right back out the door when it dawned on him that the wise thing to do would be to check the Clinic first.
Laughable as that might seem.
Still, the oncologist voice rang out, worry coloring his tone as the door shut a little harder than he'd intended it to.
"House!?"

He stood, carefully, to meet Wilson as he approached the office.

"Well, if you're making fun of me, you must not be laying dead in a ditch." The younger docter snarked as he quickly moved towards where he'd heard House's voice echoing from.

He met Wilson just inside the office door, and slid his arms around him. "Thought I'd catch up down here." He murmured, then kissed his lover soundly on the lips. "How're you?"
no subject
Smiling, warmly he dropped his head to rest against House's chest. "You really must be going stir crazy, if you're in here catching up."
Leaning back, he smiled a little wryly. "I am...better than I will be in about five minutes when I tell you....I've signed a contract with Mayor Red to put in hours down at a small clinic in towen." Wilson paused, tilted his head to the side and his smile turned to more of a grin. "Okay...less than five minutes."
no subject
I signed a contract... With the Mayor. A working contract. A clinic. in town. House put a hand to Wilson's hair, gently running his fingers through it.
"You're going to run yourself in to the ground, you know. And then I'm going to have to pick up the pieces. Which really isn't such a bad thing." His voice was level, no judgement, no intent to guilt.
no subject
"It will be fine, House. Just a few hours a couple of days a week for routine visits. Emergency cases and the heavy stuff will be going back to MCV on the mainland."
Lifting his hands, resting them against House's chest, Wilson had to fight to urge to lean there, knowing that House wasn't ready for that yet.
no subject
"I know. I just...worry. About you." House smiled. "Maybe I'll look in to helping out down there too, once I get on my feet in here." He said softly. He hadn't even been able to work his own clinic, he certainly wasn't in a position to commit to one in town.
no subject
"You shouldn't worry...you know. I'll be all right, House." He finally did lean his head forward, resting it lightly against the older man's shoulder.
"And you don't even like clinic hours here in your own clinic." His voice was touched with loving affection.
no subject
He glanced at the desk over ihs shoulder. "But, I think I'm done here. Help an old man get home? It's a long walk, you know." He groped for his cane, hanging off the end of the desk.
"I'm starting to feel like crap again," he admitted quietly. "Maybe if I lay down...I think I over did it today."
no subject
"You miss the puzzles. We can talk about it, maybe you pick up more shifts here, while I'm working down there...because people do seem to get hurt a lot around this place."
A gentle hand rubbed along the older doctor's back, soothing him with his touch.
"Let's get you into bed, see if we can't extend what Aziraphale did for you with supportive care. It's getting closer House, every minute you go is another minute won."
no subject
"Shit." He moved away from Wilson, needing his hand to cover his mouth to keep from puking in the hallway. He rushed into the apartment, as fast as his damaged leg would let him, and into the bathroom. He dropped to his knees, a jolt of pain traveling up his thigh and into his back, but he made it to the toilet.
"Definitely over did it today."

Waiting until House was finished, then helping the older man clean up, Wilson helped him to the bed, waiting until House was stretched out to place a fresh, cool washcloth across his forehead.
"You keep saying that, House. That you don't know how to solve the puzzles...is that why you...you don't want to try?" Touching his hand to his lover's cheek, Wilson looked at him worriedly. "Are you really that tired of it all?"
no subject
"I don't know what I was thinking when I took this job. I shouldn't...I should have stayed in New Hampshire. It's really pretty up there, you know. I had a nice house on the lake. It was quiet, peaceful. And so lonely I couldn't stand it."
He sighed and squeezed Wilson's hand. "I'll be all right, once I get over feeling so shitty. And we have a little vacation in a month, right?"
no subject
"You never could stand being bored." He said quietly. Dark eyes found blue and he smiled gently.
"You know... I was telling someone about you today. They asked me why I was reading Sherlock Holmes and I told them about you...about how you solve the mystery of diagnosis."
no subject
"I'm sorry. I know...I know this isn't easy for you either. It'll get better. My liver...I think it's been pulling me down and I didn't realise it. I'll be okay soon. It's getting better. I can tell it's getting better."
no subject
Looking down at House, the oncologist smiled a little sadly. "I need my partner back, Ace."
no subject
"As soon as we get this figured out, I'm going to take you away." Blue eyes opened, shining with a delicate mix of hope and regret. "For a week. Somewhere exotic. Just the two of us."
no subject
"This place is exotic." He said a little ruefully. "Where would you take me?" The oncologist asked with hints of wistfulness in his voice.

House flashed a genuine smile. "I haven't been working much lately. Strained my leg last weekend. Wilson had me tuckked up in bed for the better part of a week."
He rubbed his face. he couldn't lie to her. "I'v ealso been to MCV, because my liver's rejecting my Vicodin."

"Thank yu, Alanna. I'll let you know if I need anything." He smiles. He wouldn't ask her to use her power and strain herself on him. But the fact she offered means a lot.
"Sucker?" he pulled a red lolly out of his drawer.
no subject
"Purple?"
