Clinic Hours for Wednesday October 26 2005

Yeah, Wilson was usually fairly one track minded in the mornings as he puttered about getting the Clinic open for the day.

Checking in on Parker, iPod my ass he grabbed some crossword puzzles charts and blood results from tests run the evening before and headed for the front of the clinic.

He'd actually moved a coffee pot into the Clinic this morning and had it set up on a printer stand -hey printers do very well on the floor- where it was brewing up some very nice Jamaican Blue Mountain reserve blend.

Setting the charts off to the side for a bit, he picked up the book Professor Dream had lent him yesterday and quickly found the place he'd left off at the night before. Coffee, book...general chaos, what more could an oncologist want out of life?

Doctor on Duty, stay away from the coffee...okay he might share, if you ask nicely.

Parker is evilly cheerful this morning. Although she glares at the coffee as only a spurned lover can. But she is *Humming*.

It maybe sounds like "At Last" by Ella Fitzgerald.

Eyes still on his book, the doctor's voice was pitched to carry.

"Don't make me come in there and witness all the illegal contraband you've had friend's 'sneaking' past us for the past two days."

The humming gets softer, then: "Want some? Heh." Then a mumbled, "can't eat it anyway."

Sugar and caffiene, sounded like a winner to him.

Dropping his feet down to the floor, Wilson marked his place in the book and headed for Parker's room.

Knocking lightly on the door, he waited a count of ten so she could hide all the stuff he wasn't supposed to see and then pushed the door open.

"Did I smell brownies?"

"Maaaaybe," Parker says, her voice crafty. "Do I get control of the remote for a while when Dr. House is here? I'm sick of General Hospital, Dr. Wilson. This place is its own soap opera anyway."

Cameron stumbles out of the room where Vala is still sleeping. His neck his aching as he fell asleep in the chair. He goes get himself a cup of water when he remembers that Parker is still in the clinic too and she had seemed worried when he had told her about Vala going missing.

Taking a detour, he sticks his head inside Parker's room to make sure she's not sleeping.

Parker looks up from the Zombie Survival Guide, and frowns. "Mitchell? Are you okay? You look like crap."

"Charming, Parker." Cameron moves fully into the room, "I'm fine. I thought you'd like to know that we've found Vala and she's sleeping down the corridor right now."

"Found her where? That's great, I'm glad she's okay." Parker fishes out a plushie microbe. "Think she wants a disease for a pillow?"

Cameron enters the clinic, Vala holding on to him very tightly. He looks around frantically for any staff and then notices the doctor. "Doctor Wilson!"

The shout brought his head up and what he witnessed brought him the rest of the way up.

"Bring her this way." He said in a calm but firm clip, leading Cameron and Vala towards one of the empty exam rooms.

Cameron did as Wilson asked and followed Wilson to the exam room. "I don't think she's hurt, I found her in locker 327, but she's shaken up." He rambled on.

*Vala stumbles along wherever Cam directs her, seemingly almost completely out of it, and ends up on the exam table, but still with a deathgrip on Cam*

Grissom enters, and waits patiently until Wilson is free to pick up his test results.

Wilson got a few things settled and then walked over to where he could see Grissom sitting.

Biting his lower lip, his hands rested on his hips as he looked down with a soft sigh. He always hated this part.

"Dr. Grissom." The oncologist sounded friendly, polite and professional as he walked into the waiting room. "Here for your results, yes? Do you mind if we take a walk? I'm beginning to get the feeling the Clinic has ears."

As soon as they were away from the Clinic, Wilson pushed his hands into the pockets of his lab coat and stopped, dark eyes squinted slightly against the autumn afternoon light.

"I am...or I should say my specialty is oncology and I have the unfortunate habit of seeing the world through cancer colored glasses if you will."

Once he started, Wilson rarely minced or played with words. He wasn't harsh, in fact his tone remained calm and almost gentle but he didn't pull his punches either.

"You're symptoms, in particular the fatigue and the duration, while part of the symptomology of a stomach virus, threw up some warning flags. So, I ran a full CBC and pannel on your blood work. Those tests came back with enough evidence for me to suggest that we should go to the next step in confirming or denying the diagnosis of stomach cancer."

Looking at Grissom the whole time, Wilson waited a breath to give his words a chance to register then he started with the steady litney of what the next steps would entail.

"I want to perform an endoscopy and if I find a suspect area, we go ahead and biopsy immediately. In the early stages, this cancer is very beatable with minimal physical invasion and only minor follow-up medication."

"I'm here," he quickly abandons the chair and moves to the bed.
