After Dinner in her room at the clinic

Maia sat in the room, glancing around every few minutes to see if she saw anything. She had a stack of mail by her bedside, she was reading a letter from Shawn. Her clinic food sitting untouched beside her on the rolling table

     Hey little girl, I am sorry I have not been able to be much of a friend by way of letters recently, the center is insane right now. I hope your considering my offer for after your graduation, I think it is a good move and the center could use you. I hate to bring things like this up to you, Diana told me about what happened with your 'friend' Sara but, I need some help or some reasoning or something. For the last few nights, I've been having those dreams, the ones I had before we all got sick that time. The dark room, empty beds, full beds. I can't close my eyes, I see them over and over and I can't heal them all. I don't know what's going on, I don't tell people here because they worry to much, we do such good work here and I worry that if I don't rest I won't be at the top of my game. I need to go, my ten o'clock is here. Take care let me know about those dreams.

She sat the letter down looking around the room again. She didn't want to be alone, Paige said she was coming back, all she wanted was equalsmcsquared  to come but she knew it would not happen. They had said what they needed to say and apparently broken up a second time around this afternoon or whatever that was, reaffirmed Paige's story to her. Maia sighed and blinked back a tear, Shawn knew about it. Why cant I remember it  Maia swiped at her tears in anger.

Paige walked in after meeting Geoff (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/229376.html) she felt weird, she knew she'd done the right thing, but it felt odd knowing she'd broken up with through choice.

Maia quickly swipes a tear away and smiles. "Yeah I'm fine. Thank you. How did it go with Geoff?"

Paige sighs "I broke up with him, I told him I still loved him and he still loved me, but we couldn't be together, I have to be with James now, it's simple and easy with him."

Maia nodded. "Its for the best I guess. You and Geoff, Me and Sara." Maia pulled her knees up and rested her head on them. "Its really for the best in the end. She said she couldn't love me like I deserved." Maia hugged her knees tighter "I never asked her to love me."

Paige puts her arm around Maia, "Yeah it was definitely for the best, we were hazardous to each other's health, I think maybe we were too in love. And you do deseve to be loved Maia and you will be. I know how difficult it is but I'm sure there's someone here that will love you like Sara couldn't."

Maia nodded blinking back some tears. "I-I'm glad you have someone. To go to I mean."

Paige hugs her, "Maia, we love you, you know, Phoebe and I."

Maia nodded again. "I know you do." Maia pauses "I love you both with my whole heart but, its not the same as having someone you know. With Sara, I had someone."

"Yeah I know, I'm sorry. You should try to get some sleep Maia, I'll watch over you, don't worry."

Maia nods and lays her head against Paige. "You'll pull me back, if I get lost again right?" She closes her eyes sleepily. "You'll pull me back." She says again on the edge of sleep.

"I won't take my eyes off you Maia, I promise and if they try anything I do what to do." she lies, she has no clue what to do, but she's pretty sure they won't be back.

Paige has been drinking coffee all day though so she can stay awake another night
