House is in the lab, running the bloodwork Wilson asked him to do. He's brought a small radio with him, so at least there's music, though it has to sit outside on the reception desk so the air waves don't interfere with the lab equiptment.

He's humming along with whatever classic rock song is playing in the back ground, while he runs the blood. Against his usual pattern, he takes the time to scribble notes on the patient files just to show Wilson up. And to show Wilson how much he appreicates how Wilson has stepped up and taken over, allowing Hosue the luxury of skipping out on clinic duty as much as possible. Which has a lot to do with mun availability, but still

Michael's blood work is a straight forward test, and a good place to start. He lines the others up in no particular order, Hank, Parker, Chloe, and Duce.

Dr House is not on active duty, hopefully one of the assistants is working tonight? But House is in the clinic, so if somene stumbles in and distracts him from the blood work, he might reward them with a red lolly. Probably purple or orange, depends on how grateful/grumpy he is

[OOC: If any of you patients are looking for specific results, PLEASE let me know. I'm not good with the 'find whatever you want' thing. Need specifics, please. Duce the obvious exception, House isn't going to get to her blood work tonight since that's interactive and scheduled for Wednesday]

Parker peeked around, then took a tiny corner of one of the brownies and nibbled on it. "My stomach hurts too much for anything else," she confessed. "But god, this food is so bland, I had to have *something*. Thanks." She raises an eyebrow. "Hey, maybe you should get some sleeping pills while you're here, that might work."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Welcome. I figured you wouldn't be able to eat much, but just a taste is a good thing," Elizabeth said.

She sighed. "I might do. I've never liked the idea of relying on drugs to sleep... but I've not had a good night's sleep since Friday, so..."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you sick, or working too hard? This isn't good, Liz." Parker rolled her eyes. "I'd tell you to lay off the caffiene, but, Queen of the Glass Houses here."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth dropped her eyes, and looked down at her hands. "Nightmares," she mumbled.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh." Parker studies Liz with sympathy. "It's the Ethics Course, isn't it. It's still got you twisted up."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded, twisting her hands together. It was a nervous habit she'd never really gotten rid of. "I see the kids... and then I see my family, and you guys and you're enslaved or I watch you being killed."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Liz, you can't keep doing this." Parker grabbed her hands, trying to get them to still. "Seriously." She looked thoughtful, then bit her lip. "I have an idea. But you may not like it, so don't feel like you have to say yes."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth looked Parker straight in the eye. "If it means I actually get more than three hours sleep, then it might be worth it," she said.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Talk to Professor Dream. Or, I guess he just goes by Dream, outside the classroom." Parker sighed, her expression slightly embarassed. "I've had nightmares about... something that happened a while ago, for years. He picked up on it, at the beginning of the semester, and offered me a way to cope. It didn't hurt, it didn't cost anything, and it *does* help. I still have them, sometimes, but they're bearable." She squeezed Liz's hand. "Maybe he can help you out too."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth nods slowly. "I think I'll try him," she said, before giving Parker a slight smile. "Nothing else seems to have helped so far."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Doesn't it suck?" Parker said with feeling. "It's bad enough you have to go through a trauma, why do our brains re-traumatize us? Stupid subconscious." She grimaced. "I don't blame you for being freaked by the class exercise, although you and Janet can have fun writing about me and Echolls this week."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
"It does," Elizabeth agreed, with equal feeling. "And my subconscious has far too many things to draw upon."

She laughed harshly. "Yes. May I write how this assignment placed one student in the clinic?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Parker tilted her head. "I guess that's one drawback to you guys-- being like you are. More time to accumulate a lifetime's worth of nightmares. Or a double set. I'm sorry."

"Feel free to vilify away," Parker added cheerfully. "Although, to be fair, Kawalsky showed up double-quick-time the second he heard what was going on, and he said I'd be excused from the rest of the stupid exercise. Yay, Major K!." She sighed. "I haven't actually talked to Professor Maclay yet, though."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth waved her hand. "Don't apologize... you weren't the idiot who pushed the button and got me in this mess," she said.

She grinned, before looking serious. "I've not spoken to Charlie since ethics class... discounting the brief exchange at the zoo when he was convinced that he was Samuel L. Jackson. And I need to talk to the Professor as well. Probably the Dean too. I don't know what the procedure is to drop a class."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
"I haven't seen Kawalsky since last night, but he told Cam to come visit, and he was very cool while I was melting down. Unlike Angelus, who set me up to fail." Parker grimaced. "I haven't made up my mind whether I'll drop the class or not. I hate to lose at *anything*. Even something as dumb as this exercise. But..."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
"I think seeing people fail is something that Angelus enjoys," Elizabeth said. "And whilst I don't tend to give up on things, if the classes continue in this manner, then I'm going to lose the ability to function!"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
"A woman's got to know her limitations," Parker said, deadpan.

"Drop if the class makes you crazy. I was enjoying it, until this mess. We'll see if I *can* even stay after this debacle, though." She sighed. "By Thursday, I might be so bored it seems like a good idea again."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"See, I was a bit uneasy after the first class, when I had Angelus questioning my faith," Elizabeth said. "It's not something I need, so I don't see why I should put myself through it."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Parker grinned wickedly, and leaned forward to whisper, "Are you *sure* you're not 17, really? That sounded remarkably teenager-ish of you."

Then she leaned back, shrugging. "Either way, no fetching and carrying for Echolls this week. Ha."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth groaned. "I'm not even 17 yet," she whispered back. "I've got to wait until April for that." She paused, and looked thoughtful. "Unless I should be counting the day I got cloned as my birthday now, because I suppose that would be the true day."

She smiled at Parker. "So, something good has come out of it at least then."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Parker smothered a laugh. "So in some way, I'm three months older than you? Sweet. To quote someone." Then she cocked an eyebrow. "Do you want two birthdays? Because I say go for it."

"Enh. I'm bored now, but Alanna's getting me the big box o' fun (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mparker16/2413.html?thread=344429#t344429) that O'Neill bought me last week at the end of her shift. And I could use the break, actually." She sighed, her face looking drawn. "I have kind of been overdoing it."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth rolled her eyes, but she was smiling. "In some ways, yes," she said. "And whilst two birthdays does have it's merits, it'd be pretty hard to explain that to people."

"That's something. Did you want any books? Because I'll get them out the library for you tomorrow if you want?"

"Just a bit," Elizabeth agreed. "Although I saw your poster for Academic Affairs."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
"You could say you were adopted. Or Born Again on the second birthday. And ooo, it wouldn't even be a lie," Parker said mischievously.

"Books would be good. Anything ridiculous. Except Harlequins, those are ridiculous and moronic. Maybe some Wodehouse?"

"I had to do it. No one was running! Of course, now Crane's probably going to take it because I'm stuck in here." Parker rolled her eyes. "I don't know the guy, but I'd still rather I won, damnit. Even with the ulcer. And *not* because Valentine biffed it. I'm just sick of this crap being up in the air."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd like to be adopted," Elizabeth said. "If I want to go back into politics, not having a past - and a family - will come back and bite me on the ass."

"Wodehouse I can do," she nodded. "And trust me, I wouldn't even know where to look for Harlequins."

"Hey, I got elected and I had the mumps for two weeks," Elizabeth grinned. "I voted for you though this morning, so fingers crossed and all that."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Parker winced, looking troubled. "I guess you could ... fake the paperwork. But the actual people would be a stretch. You guys have someone coming for next weekend, though, right?"

"Thanks for voting. And for me, no less." Parker's voice was dry. "We'll see how it goes. At least having a fast fast election like this doesn't allow for enough time to for a lot of crap to be pulled. And yeah, you did get elected, didn't you?" Parker grinned. "I win, I win. I lose, I'll figure out how to make it a win."
