The down side of being a healer, you can't heal yourself and you feel like crap after you help someone else.

She rolls up her shirt to produce a rather bloody elbow

Alanna moves gingerly over, her bottom being a little sore to sit on.

I've always had the Gift, if that's what you mean. I just hated using it, but then, well, a-a friend of mine, he died. I might have been able to help him, but he died. And then, my prince was about to die, so, yeah. My nurse told me, that I would have to pay back for the blood I took with my sword. I just didn't listen.
