"So what've we got for today?" Cristina said as she came in, sipping an iced coffee. "Squirrels with heat exhaustion? Maybe some sunburn?" She shook her head. "How do they even get sunburned? Shouldn't the fur fix that? It's because we're basically living in the sun's asshole here, isn't it." She plopped down in chair at the front desk and put her feet up. "You know, at least in Seattle when it's this humid it has the courtesy to rain."
The nurses didn't even look up from their card game. They'd learned by now that Cristina was more than willing to just monologue to herself about how terrible everything was.
