FTEC, Wednesday, April 8

With all of the patients gone from the clinic, Martha was a lot more relaxed, which meant the nurses got to relax too. Martha was working on finishing up everyone's files and making a list of what supplies needed to be replaced, and the nurses got to gossip about who in town they hoped would get bitten by a gremlin and turned into a nudist.

[OCD-free today!]

Edmund walked into the clinic, not really wanting to be there, but also not wanting his arm to fall off. Not that it was going to fall off any time soon, but he'd seen the simplest of cuts on the battlefield get nasty very quickly. When the gash on his arm that he'd tried to clean up and fix himself the other day hadn't significantly improved, he gave in and came to the clinic. "Er, hello?"

"I have a cut on my arm. It's not too deep, but it's not getting better on its own." He rolled up his left sleeve to show where the bandage was. "Would you mind taking a look?"

Edmund shook his head. "Ghost wolf." Well, it was in his mind anyway. "I missed the zombies." He sounded a little disappointed at that. There were actual zombies and he'd wound up being chased around the Preserve by something that may or may not have been imaginary.

The cut on his arm wasn't a bite from a wolf, alive or ghostly, but a slash picked up from falling down a hill and slicing it on a rock while running away from aforementioned ghost wolf.

He sat patiently and tried to stay as still as possible. That came from years of Lucy telling him off for fidgeting when she was trying to fix him up. "I heard it was bad," Edmund eventually said. "Were there any casualties?"

"I'd like to take partial credit, but I keep missing out when something big happens." It was almost as if he was being kept away by some unseen lazy busy lazy force. Edmund frowned at his arm. "How is it?"

"Thank you," Edmund replied, a little relieved. "I'll know where to come if I'm ever chased by a ghost wolf again."

"I'd really prefer it didn't," Edmund admitted. "I feel it important to say out loud just in case that I'd really prefer no animals, ghost or otherwise, would come after me. No monkeys or badgers or even gazelles. Just in case anyone is listening and thinking of loopholes."
