FTEC, Tuesday, January 29 - Day Shift

The episode of Hearts 'n' Scapels with the demonic possession was playing in the front lobby. It might not have been in the best taste, but Christian couldn't help it after reading over the reports from the weekend. Demonic-induced coma? Demonic-induced massive hemorrhaging? Christian had been called a demon by more than one woman, but even after being in Fandom for so long he had a hard time believing in them. That punk kid who looked like him and who claimed to be a demon was probably just trying to impress his girlfriend. Boyfriend. Whichever.

Good: I have my state tax return already.

Bad: What do you mean you want me to switch around all the vendors delivering roses to the warehouses?

I think I'll use that tax return on booze. Icon = sarcastic!

Dean was starting to chafe at being in the clinic. He still felt mostly like crap but he could do that just as easily in his room. And there was a lot more to distract him from thinking about things that just made him feel worse.

So he was lying there, plotting, wondering if he had enough strength to sneak out and get himself back to the dorms without passing out.

As soon as he could get there, Sam was back in the clinic, carefully holding a bag from J,GOB. "Hey," he said, watching Dean from the doorway. "How are you feeling?"

"Stir crazy," Dean replied.

Meg was back in the clinic after taking some time to feed and play with Hunter, shower and yes, get a little bit of sleep. She didn't have class today so she was there bright and early.

"Feeling better?" Meg asked when she came into the room.

"Well, you already had the crazy going for you, so that's just a few steps past it," Sam replied, trying to tease. "I brought you some food. I thought that might help."

"Depends. You're not here to tell me you need to leave to get your head on straight or anything are you?"

Dean still wasn't that hungry -- a sure sign he still was way less than 100% -- but dragged up a smile for Sammy anyway. "Gotta be better than clinic food. Whatcha got?"

"Of course not," she said, frowning. "Why would I do that?"

"Brownies and donuts," Sam said. "I wasn't sure what you'd want, or how hungry you'd be." If Dean wasn't hungry at all, Sam wasn't letting him leave the clinic, that was for sure.

When Meg wasn't with Dean or at the dorms checking up on Hunter, she was sitting in the lobby flipping through an old magazine. One from her dorm. Hospital magazines suck.

"The donuts with powered sugar?"

"Just seems to be the way my luck's going." He paused. "Alec left."

"Of course," Sam said. "Leave it to you to like the kind that makes the biggest mess."

"That's all part of the fun." He took the proffered donut and after a few bites said, "Alec's left again."

"He did?" Sam asked, sitting down. "I thought he was done with what he needed to do?"

"Oh, Dean," Meg said sadly. "I'm sorry."

"That's not the reason."

Dean shrugged. "Can't blame him, really. I'd probably some space and time to get myself sorted out if I'd been possessed too."

Before leaving the Perk Isabel had picked up and extra mocha and an extra hot chocolate and headed over to the clinic. "Hey," she said when saw Meg in the lobby. "Just the person I was looking for."

Meg nodded in agreement. "I can't even imagine what that'd be like. Not having control of your own actions and everything."
