Internally, Susan was cursing the U.S. Army rather vehemently. Of *course* an adolescent would have moral flexibility; at that age, the need for structure made it relatively easy to provide a teenager looking for stability with a new framework, absent anything already in place. Aloud, she said, "So you basically accepted that the government would make moral choices for you, without questioning their agenda. The end justifies the means, in effect."

"Do you think it's likely that you'll become that again? I'm asking if you're worried you'll become a killer, a killer-for-hire, or a person with that same 'moral flexibility' that you referred to earlier."
