FTEC, Wednesday Night

Natalie set up her laptop on the front desk, the streaming audio station filtering through the speakers. For her, the music carried through the lobby and back into the lab. She hummed a bit as she began crating up her things. The final word hadn't yet been given, but it was almost time to head back to Toronto. The life she'd put on hold was waiting there, and she was ready to get back to it.

Natalie settled in at the front desk with her laptop and her Ginger Rogers-Fred Astaire DVD collection on in the background. It was possible she hummed, occasionally breaking out into song, accompanying Fred and Ginger.

Natalie arrived to find the NPC nurse reorganizing the supplies and completing an inventory. With the clinic empty, it was certainly easier to clean up and take count. When asked if she needed help, the nurse declined. She said it gave her something to do on the slow nights. Nat left her be. She turned her own attention to her computer and reviewing her notes.

At the front desk, she was totally interruptible if needed.

Natalie checked on her patient, then settled in with her laptop. She had orders to place for new lab toys equipment.

[AFK for about 20 minutes, and then Back!]

Natalie stopped by the desk, swapping her jacket for a lab coat, and then unloading her laptop. She checked Gwynn's chart, then made for exam one for a quick peek in on the patient. A few minutes later found her back at the front desk, researching yet more lab equipment. Sometimes it was good to have a wealthy philanthropist as a boyfriend significant other.
[identity profile] geniusdoctor.livejournal.com
With so many patients coming in, Doogie figured it would be a nice idea to come in and help Dr. Lambert. He checked on the patients who were still around, before going to man the desk while he waited for Natalie to arrive.

[OCD is done!]

Natalie was surprised to find the clinic so full -- and not pleasantly surprised. She was even less thrilled when she began to review the patient charts. Dr. Wilson had done a good job patching everyone up, but the injuries were still worrisome. She was once again struck by the senselessness in attacking kids, even ones as mature and well-armed as the ones in Fandom.

With a sigh, she made her rounds. She checked bandages and fluids, then settled in to do some requisition forms. Both the lab and the clinic would need restocking after this.

[Patient rooms up... Please wait for patients to ping in.]

Feeling a bit contemplative, Natalie settled in at the desk with her evening's supply of protein supplements, her notebook computer, and The Denied playing in the background. While she wasn't exactly wallowing in self-pity, she was wondering about what it really was to be a vampire.

Maybe she really had been around Nick too long...

[A mea culpa for Wednesday night. I went down with a migraine, and just didn't let anyone know. I am, however, around this evening. Feel free to ping if needed.]

Natalie settled in at the front desk with the owners manuals to a few of the new items in the lab. While the reading wasn't exciting -- it certainly wasn't the novel with the centaur and the mermaid on the cover -- but required so she wouldn't break the Foundation's latest acquisitions in the first try.

[Apologies for the late post. Unexpected family issues arose.]

FTEC, Wednesday Evening

The pile of rubble surrounding the school was slowly being sifted through, and the standing remains were finally beginning to peek through, up on the hill. As she entered the clinic, Natalie couldn't help but wonder if her life would ever take her somewhere...normal. Or as normal as it gets for a vampire, she thought with a smirk.

Powering up her laptop, she settled in at the front desk for a quick check of her e-mail before heading back to the lab. There was new equipment to be set up.

Natalie raised her stainless coffee mug to the nurse as she entered, looking a bit as though she weren't awake yet. Amazing how appearances could be entirely accurate. Stifling a yawn, she settled in with her laptop and set about ordering a few new supplies for the lab.

Feeling a bit more chipper, Natalie settled in to the desk with her laptop computer, a few DVDs, and her new MP3 player. In between a bit of cleaning and organizing, she managed to hold IM conversations with both Grace and Nick throughout the shift.

FTEC, Wednesday Night

Life was slowly beginning to return to normal. She still had nightmares, was still troubled by what she did, but the reality of the situation was she couldn't take it back. Nick had already seen to it that the child affected by this would have an education fund, and would be well taken care of. It was a small price to pay, she thought, for what she had taken away...one that she should have paid herself. Nick, however, insisted. He understood far too well the guilt she carried with her as a constant companion these days. The sting would lessen over time, he told her, even if it would never go away.

As she settled in to the desk with her laptop and her lab journal, Natalie wondered darkly whether or not she would ever find a cure. Even if she did, she still wasn't sure she'd ever find penance for her crime.

[She's not really melancholy, just a tad...reflective. Really. =) ]

Natalie settled in at the desk with her laptop computer and a stack of DVDs. She felt that was the safest bet for a Friday the 13th.

[Available for RP for a little while. Otherwise, SP on tags I will pick up tomorrow night from my new home town! Eee!]

As she sat at the front desk, chatting away on her instant message program with Grace, Natalie again pushed aside the thought that maybe, one Friday, she really would have a life. Real lives were highly overrated, after all.

Seated at the front desk, Natalie frowned at the protein shake she was attempting to consume. It -- like everything else in the past week -- seemed even more flavorless and bland than usual. With a sigh, she set it aside and turned her attention to her lab journal. She made herself busy typing up her notes from the previous week.

[AFK till about 10 PM EDT or so. Back! ETA: Details of discussion between Bridge and Nat NFB.]

Nat wasn't ready for this; she wasn't even able to look herself in the mirror. How could she even contemplate facing patients after the previous night? Still, it was something that had to be done. And her failure only led her back into the lab, more determined than ever to find what it was about the new samples that had suppressed the vampire.

By the time Natalie returned to the clinic for her first shift since the treatment, the effects of the experimental enzyme had worn off. Her system had tolerated the food, but only just; after returning home from The Perk, she had sucked down three bottles of bovine before quenching the bloodthirst. Her body craved human blood. She refused to give in. Caving to the vampire would be exactly what LaCroix would want, and she didn't dare give him the satisfaction.

Steeling herself, she settled in at the front desk with her laptop, her lab journal, and reruns of Wendy the Werewolf Stalker on the television. She was incredibly relieved to find Nick online as well. She was going to need the moral support tonight.
[identity profile] janet-fraiser.livejournal.com
Janet was lazily doing an inventory check, and hoping for an uneventful night at the clinic.

She could hope, right?

OOC: Gimme a couple minutes for OCD. All right, everything should be ready.

It was Friday, so Natalie was, of course, in the clinic. She made a quick round of the patients, then settled in at the front desk with her laptop and lab journal.

[I am currently in a hotel somewhere outside of Chicago, with most of my immediate family in tow. As a result? I must be sociable. Will try to pick up any pings in a couple of hours, but anyone needing medical attention should NPC the nurse. If you *need* a doc, drop an e-mail, and I'll excuse myself for a while. =) ]

Natalie arrived for her shift a few minutes early, afforded the protection of the grey, rainy skies. She shook the rain off her jacket and hung it up. Slipping into her lab coat, she checked in on the patients remaining in the clinic.

Eventually, she retreated to the lab with her laptop.

[Posting early as I will be AFK for a while this evening.]
[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com
The nurse had been a little concerned when 5pm came and went and Wilson didn't show up but since the clinic was quiet and she had his pager number, she didn't fret overly. A quiet night without a doctor to bother her was a blessing.

Too bad that in about an hour FHT the quiet night was going to be shattered and the clinic was going to find itself, very busy indeed.

While she would have preferred some activity on her Friday night, Natalie was still more than happy to see the clinic beds empty after a relatively busy week. She checked the rooms, did some organizing, and then settled in at the front desk with her laptop and wireless internet connection.
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie made her way over to the desk, looking over the notes for the past few days, and was surprised. Had she missed an invasion? She didn't think so; she would have heard the commotion. Giving the patient charts a good once-over, she headed for the rooms to check on them. Nat couldn't help but wonder what it was these kids kept getting into...

[Room threads will be up in just a sec. Room threads are up. Mun will be AFK from 9 - 10 PM, ET, but back to serve your medical needs afterwards.]

As per the norm, Natalie settled in at the front desk with her laptop computer, DVDs, and lab journal.

[Apologies for the late post. I was fangirling Geraint Wyn Davies at Richard III. ::sigh:: ]
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie settled in at the desk with her laptop, as per the norm. She allowed her MP3 list to play as she leant back, reading with rapt attention a childrens' novel about the final battle between Good and Evil.
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie settled in at the front desk with her now-outdated Windows XP laptop. She was just as glad she'd bought this one last year, before the move to Fandom. Let someone else like Dr. Troy find the security holes, she reasoned.

[Away for dinner, but should be back around 9-ish, Eastern.]
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie settled in at the front desk with a protein shake, her lappy, and a bodice ripper historical romance novel. It was one Grace recommended. Half way through the book, Natalie could see why.

The crunch beneath her feet as she walked the distance from her apartment to the clinic had reminded Natalie of home, lifting her spirits. She smiled and hummed a bit as she puttered around the clinic, straightening and cleaning up a bit.

FTEC, Tuesday Night

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007 12:52 am
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie sat at the desk, quietly researching some new lab toys equipment to be added to the FY08 budget for the Foundation.

[Sorry for the late post, folks. Got caught up in a paper. Done now. Slow play through tomorrow if medical attention is needed.]
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
After stopping briefly in the park to answer a text, then grabbing a latte over at The Perk, Natalie settled in at the front desk with her laptop. On the big screen television, a rerun of The Oval Office she particularly liked was playing. She chuckled as her instant messenger service popped up. Nick was doing paperwork...again. And apparently didn't have enough to keep him busy.

[Grr. I thought I reposted this in the proper place. Apparently, I forgot. Apologies.]

FTEC, Friday Night

Natalie settled in at the front desk with a box set of Mister What. Old School fan or no, she really enjoyed the new seasons.

She was, of course, totally interruptable if medical attention was needed.
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie arrived on shift to find no new charts to review, and no patients to check in on. She powered up the laptop and decided to see what was happening in the Strifenova Celestial fandom. She'd barely been able to keep up with the show; fandom had sort of fallen by the wayside. Pulling up the 'shipper community she frequented, her eyes went wide. "Oh my."

She could wait to talk to Grace about this one.
[identity profile] janet-fraiser.livejournal.com
Janet was at the clinic, with coffee brewing, and a large volume of Greek mythology open on her desk. There might have been little frowny faces every time Ares' name came up in a story. She was certainly more than ready for patients to show.
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie arrived on shift with her lappy and a couple of medical journals on cellular research. As she sat down and connected to the network, she noted the shredded magazine paper in the garbage. "Someone had a good time today," she commented. Shaking her head, she settled in for the shift.

Natalie settled in with her laptop and DVDs at the front desk. To the right of the DVD program, she had a chat window open, and was discussing the finer points of old movies with Nick while he filled out case paperwork at his desk in Toronto. Captain Reese, he said, was amazed at how willing he was these days to finish his reports.

She smirked, typing back, "If only he knew."

[AFK until about 8:30, EST.]
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie sat at the front desk, her shiny new Mister What, Season 2 DVDs beside her laptop. Despite all the fuss, she really enjoyed the new companion, different as she was from the previous ones. She wasn't looking forward to the final two episodes. Thankfully, at her current rate, those wouldn't be up till next week. She would make sure to have Nick over that night to offer moral support.

[Up early by request. I'll be available off and on through the day, and then home this evening.

ETA: Edited because I mixed my meta-phors...]

Natalie checked on Cally, only to find she had been checked out, then settled in at the front desk, writing up a few ideas she had for more lab tests.

[Sorry for the lateness. Turns out, pain meds knock you out...]
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie set her things down slowly, eyes scanning over Cally's chart. She read the notes made by the admitting physician -- or, in this case, the admitting aide -- and then those added by Dr. Troy. Taking a moment to unpack, she then peeked in on her patient. She spent the remaineder of the shift either in the lab or tending to the patient...and welcoming visitors.
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
As per the norm, Natalie settled in at the front desk with her laptop computer and an internet connection. She took a few breaks for coffee and to clean up a bit.

FTEC, Wednesday Night

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007 05:57 pm
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie didn't exactly slam the receiver back into the cradle, but she didn't place it there gently, either. A shipment of new lab supplies had been backordered for the third time, and her patience with the company had worn out -- especially as they weren't prepared to offer comparable replacements. She had enough to get her through February. It would have to do until she could find another supplier.

She sighed, looking down at the handset. A small crack ran the length of the unit. She was really going to have to watch that grip. At least it still works, she thought. She would see to a replacement tonight.
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie was surprised to read that Dr. Wilson had regained consciousness. Pleasantly surprised, of course, but still surprised. She peeked in on her patient. Afterward, she settled in at the desk with her laptop and DVDs. It was another Fred and Ginger night, with her new "Volume 2" box set.
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Last night, Natalie made herself busy in the lab, careful not to disturb Dr. Wilson's visitors. Tonight, she was sitting at the front desk, watching-but-not-watching The Final Warrior on American Movie Classics. She wondered when they started showing commercials. And, if she was honest with herself, she was definitely trying to avoid the angel. Yes, she had treated him. No, they weren't out to kill each other. Despite this, she still felt decidedly awkward.

But she still had a job to do.

Damn it.

Putting down the remote, she headed for the first exam room, the good doctor's medical chart in hand.

After checking on her lone patient, she embedded herself in the lab. She really needed a better coping mechanism...
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie frowned as she stood behind the desk and flipped through Dr. Wilson's chart. An abdominal stab wound was a nasty thing, and got worse, depending on how much damage the weapon had done on the inside. In this case, the lung had been punctured; she could only imagine the tight, painful feeling of breathlessness that had immediately followed. It was not something she hoped to ever encounter herself, and she was curious as to how Dr. Wilson could have found himself on the receiving end.

She was also curious as to how the good doctor ended up with a fractured skull. Notes from the admitting physician -- Janet, she noted -- conjectured that the fracture was the cause of his current coma. With a sigh, Nat closed the chart. Sounds like one hell of a fight, she thought, shaking her head.

She moved off silently to check on her patient, then spend some time in the lab.
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie, after spending a mostly enjoyable Christmas with Nick, settled in at the desk with a new laptop. As The Denied spun up in the new DVD-RW drive, she grinned. The display was amazingly clear and so bright! This was a great gift. She would have to remember to thank Nick again the next time she saw him.

[Will be at the keys off and on till about 8:30, and then I'll be available till after midnight EST. I refuse to do anything more productive around the house. Hmph.]
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
T'was the Friday before Christmas, and all through the clinic, not a single thing grew bacteriogenic...

Natalie frowned at her journal entry. Okay, that's not going to work. Shaking her head, she closed down the laptop, deciding to work on it later. She flipped on the television and tuned it to the Christmas music channel. Quietly, she sang along as she made herself busy, cleaning and straightening.

[::handwaves:: This post was perfectly on time. No, I'm not losing track of my days. And my Christmas tree has been decorated for simply weeks -- how dare you imply anything...]
[identity profile] drlambert.livejournal.com
Natalie, having a lot of notes from her previous shift, settled in at the front desk with her lab notebook and laptop.

[Out for a bit. Be back later tonight. Please use the NPC nurse until then if needed!]
