Martha almost - almost - wished she was outside fighting, but she knew that her skills were just as needed in the clinic. No one who was injured should have been left alone with the nurses, after all.

[Open and OCD free. Sorry for the lateness, I totally overslept this morning!]

Simon was reading a medical journal. He had read it before, but it didn't matter. Anything that would distract him from the giggling nurses was a good thing. It might not have worked completely but it was better than nothing.

Ronan was in the clinic, ready for anyone who needed help; today, he'd decided just to relax at the front desk. He had a novel and a cold glass of cola, and the nurses rolled their eyes at him as they bustled around doing the work he should have been doing to make sure the exam rooms were stocked.

[I'm around-ish, but flying OCD-free and there might be some SP as there's some RL stuff going on!]

It had taken Simon some time to overcome the embarrassment over what had happened that week which he tried not to think about. Hopefully someone would have forgotten about it by now.

Not the nurses though. Well, they might not recall their own behaviour, but judging from the looks they gave him Simon assumed they remembered what he had done. He decided that the best strategy was to reorganise the storage cupboards.

When arriving at the clinic, Simon had expected it to be quiet as usual. He had felt a little feverish himself, and hoped he wasn't coming down with the flu or anything like that. And then it began.

The nurses smiled at him. One of them leaned very close, revealing more of her anatomy than he was comfortable with. Another one offered him a glass of juice and the managed to spill it over his shirt, after which she suggested he should take it off so that she could wash it. When he declined she got a little... forceful.

Simon had fled to a storage closet, deciding that the day was best spent going through the stocks. That was until another nurse showed up and tried to... well, he didn't want to think about that.

Now he was seated behind the desk, trying to hide behind a medical journal. It wasn't going that well.

Simon wished the clinic would not be quiet today, for purely selfish reasons. His mind seemed unable to comprehend the fact that River had returned and then chosen to leave again, forbidding him to follow or trying to contact her. It made no sense!

And that meant it made no sense for him to be here, either, and yet he couldn't leave. There had to be a way. In fact, there was a way. He just had to take that step.

He even failed to notice the looks the nurses gave him today.

With the zombies gone, Martha hoped that there wouldn't be any new patients in the clinic today. She was perfectly content to finish taking care of the ones who were already there.

Martha had been very grateful for the quiet of the clinic yesterday. They hadn't had many zombies come to try to get in - the nurses had been quite fierce, and Martha could only imagine that word had spread - and the lack of patients had made Martha start to wonder if they'd get through this whole thing with everyone being all right. It was amazing that she still had some optimism left in her, but there it was.

Once she'd made sure that the exam rooms were clean and the inventory was still as stocked as it should have been, Martha let herself get settled in behind the desk, and started flipping through the news stations, trying to find one that she could stand to watch for more than a few minutes at a time.

[The clinic is a zombie-free zone, so you're safe in here! Mind the OCD, por favor.]
